Whether whole wheels, portions, slices, grated cheese, cubes, fondue or private label: we do not see cheese simply as a product, but as a solution. For retail, food service, industry and export. Always with the aim of making cheese enjoyment simple, reliable and tangible.

Our Story

The story of InterCheese is closely connected to cheese and strong partnerships. Our name reflects this too: the “Inter” in InterCheese stands for what lies in between – for the connection between cheese producers and the cheese trade, between origin, craftsmanship, the market and enjoyment.

Founding of the predecessor company Mathis & Thürig. Since then, the history of InterCheese AG has been shaped by steady growth and dynamism, enabling the company to respond to change and constantly evolving market requirements.

2005

2005

As part of a succession plan, Peter Häfeli and Daniel Dätwyler take over the company’s leadership and establish InterCheese AG.

2010

2010

Relocation from Hildisrieden to Beromünster and construction of a spacious new company building.

2015

2015

Peter Häfeli acquires all shares of the company. Leonhard Wey and Markus Villiger complete the management team.

InterCheese presents itself with a fresh new look and logo, while simultaneously launching the consumer brand “Natour – Käsekellerei Beromünster”. New momentum and a clear strategic direction are brought by the new management team, made up of members of the existing team. Peter Häfeli serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Commitment of Intercheese AG

We work with a product that is rooted in nature, origin and craftsmanship. That is why responsibility is not an add-on for us, but part of our everyday work. At InterCheese, sustainability is reflected in modern infrastructure, conscious energy use, regional partnerships and long-term thinking.

A clear proof of this commitment is our new building, constructed according to the Minergie standard. With a volume of around 50,000 m³, it is one of the largest Minergie-certified production buildings in Central Switzerland.
